Denim Edit: White Jeans

Trade out the blue, white denim is where it’s at and we’ve compiled the best chalky choices to go with your boyfriend shirt this spring.

Before we start there are some rules to adhere to;

  1. Proper denim only please, think Capucine Safyurtlu rather than Paris Hilton. Topshop do a great affordable pair or for a little more dollar, there’s the Raey straight-leg at Matches.

2. Veer towards a boyfriend jean – we love the men's original fit Levi 501, you may need to tailor but they’re well worth the effort. An oversized and masculine look works well with a tucked in shirt; Isabel Marant are masters of this.

3. Go for a masculine boot or shoe, no summer sandals or else you’ll be veering into Liz Hurley territory.

A boyfriend shirt and white jeans have long been the staple uniform for the Paris Vogue women, the key is to keep the top half low key and slightly masculine. A navy round neck jumper is a failsafe, (keep the shirt cuffs poking out) a good belt is crucial and don’t be afraid to do white on white.

The pale blue WNU tucks perfectly into the MIH high rise pair here, then pair with a black stiletto (ideal for the extra leg length when wearing white_ or alternatively a loafer, see Alexa Chung for inspiration.
