Denim Edit: The Jacket
When it comes to wardrobe staples there are few things that rival a good shirt but, come spring, the denim jacket makes for a good second place. The SS18 shows proved that the cult-classic is still a firm favourite with the fashion pack and nothing provides a better layer with which to show off your WNU shirt.
Gap consistently offers great denim in a classic cut – and the price is equally appealing. The classic shape makes it effortlessly versatile and pairing with your white WNU couldn’t be easier and more effortless.
The acid-wash from Off-White is on the WNU team’s wish list – we love its faded tone paired with the Blue WNU - add a blue denim jean for an excellent Canadian Tuxedo look .
Veering away from a traditional style is the slightly workman’s jacket shaped piece from J.Crew. It has a much more feminine feel and would be ideal over a silk trouser and a WNU knotted at the waist.
My favourite jacket is a Levis vintage find which I picked up for £25 in charity shop in Canterbury – nothing beats it when they’re worn and slightly beaten up. Scout out your local vintage shops and see what you can find – the price is fantastic and the denim is perfect.
Cropped has been big this season and works perfectly with just a high waisted black jean – good belt essential – and the striped WNU. The Current/Elliott one here is fantastically cut and has a nice paler wash to it.
As the weather warms up and we can ditch our jeans for a skirt go for the full denim look broken up by your WNU – the perfect simple spring look.
